I composed this collection of ten pieces during the Covid-19 lockdown of 2021 in my home in Gloucestershire. Some of them came to me quickly, others took quite some time, they were all a labour of love. They are an eclectic mix of styles and forms with no intended relationship between the melodies, they simply represent the mood that I was in at the time of composition, they are, however, all written in a minor tonality.
I have not sought to push any boundaries with these compositions and do not profess them to being anything other than a small part of myself.
In addition to my compositions I have included a piece of my late father, Ray Gill’s. This is a delightful simple melody entitled Recurring Dream that he composed when I was young and which, still so many years later, I often find myself singing to myself.
I share all these pieces with you in the hope that they bring some enjoyment and perhaps that one or two may resonate particularly with your musical tastes.
